GARNIX 2025

Support the GARNIX team in putting up tents, setting up the beer garden or installing stands. On Saturday we set up the rough scaffolding with stands and fencing, the finishing touches - i.e. interior design of the stands and all the visual aspects - are done on Sunday.
Dismantling will then take place on the following Saturday.

Please bring sturdy shoes (safety shoes if you have them) and robust and comfortable clothing. Work gloves will be provided, as well as the necessary tools. Important: You don't need any manual skills or to be particularly strong. It is enough if you enjoy helping out, we will find a suitable task for everyone ;)

You can enjoy the festival without having to work, and you will receive tokens and a T-shirt for each of the two Saturday shifts! Catering will be provided during the shift. You will receive details of the exact schedule by e-mail a few days in advance.

Grilling is not your passion? We can offer further jobs: preparing sandwiches or fries, or serving at the counter.

At the Sweets booth you sell waffles, ice cream and fruits in chocolate.

For this task you need to be fluent in German because of official regulations! If you are not, please choose another task. We have plenty of other jobs for you!

Welcome to the most relaxed helper shift at Garnix!

Your tasks at the sports equipment rental:

 * lying in a deck chair
 * Enjoy music
 * sip cocktails from the cocktail stand next door (optional)
 * Lend sports equipment to students in exchange for a student ID card as a deposit, which is returned afterwards
 * Watch or play along with students doing sports (optional)"

There is shade, electricity and WIFI. So if there's not so much going on, you can still be productive.

Face painting stall: 
Have you ever wanted to paint your friends a beautiful moustache or turn them into a unicorn? Then come to the children's face painting stall. 
In addition to the sports equipment rental, this year there is also a face painting booth where you can paint children and students. You will be provided with various templates of motifs that you can follow. Of course, if you already have some experience, you can give free rein to your creativity :)
So what are you waiting for?

At the sports festival you will help us as a tournament helper.

 Knowledge about the respective sport would be helpful, but not necessary. Also, we don't know exactly when the tournaments will end, it depends on registration numbers. Therefore, the indicated end of the shift is only an upper limit when we will definitely be finished.

What about your tasks, in addition to mixing cocktails, you are gonna sell them to guests, take care of stand, dance, sing along and wash glasses from time to time. 🌟

The beer station - what would the GARNIX be without beer?

Drafting beer till you drop, maybe pouring a non-alcoholic drink or two and loading the dish washer. These are the responsibilities awaiting you at the beer station. It goes without saying that these are some of the most important jobs at the festival. ;-)

With us, you can look behind the scenes at the largest university cinema in Germany and get to know the processes in a real cinema! Our open-air cinema shows films on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday on the lawn next to the GARNIX starting at 10 pm. The dismantling shift on Friday can be much shorter, depending on how much we already manage on Thursday.

Wondering what logistics at an event actually means? As logisticians, we mostly work behind the scenes of the event. We are responsible for ensuring that all booths get the materials they need. This can range from construction fences, to deep fryers, to buckets and cleaning supplies. The specific shifts are as follows:

Packing: A few days before the event, we meet with all the booths at our material storage and pack pallets with the materials they specifically need.

Transport: We transport the packed pallets, as well as other large items like construction fences, jugs, etc., from our storage to the event venue.

Distribution: During the setup of the event, we distribute the packed materials (this shift only makes sense if you were present during packing).

Return Transport: After the event, we clean up and bring everything back to its original storage location.

Since 2009, TUM has had its own first responder service to provide medical support at student events.
To join as a first responder at GARNIX, you need to have completed a certified first aid or medical responder training. This qualification can come from an aid organization or from the related lecture "Training as a Specialist First Responder" ("Ausbildung zum/zur FachsanitäterIn"). Please send your certificate to sanis@fs.tum.de. After that, you will be added to our internal duty roster.

Your tasks: As a first responder at GARNIX, you’ll take care of various injuries and illnesses that can occur during a week-long festival.

Your reward: For your shift, you’ll receive a GARNIX t-shirt and more voucher tokens than in other shifts.

The AStA Event Technology team is responsible for all technical aspects of student events at TUM. This includes setting up and dismantling technical equipment as well as operating the lighting and sound systems during events.

No prior experience is necessary to join the team. Everything you need to know will be taught by our experienced members during events or through optional training sessions.

I agree to the processing of my given personal data for the registration as helper for student events (helfen.fs.tum.de) by Fachschaft MPIC of Technical University of Munich (www.fs.tum.de/impressum). By law, participants have a right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or objection to processing or data portability. Furthermore, participants have a right of complaint and the right to appeal to the Bavarian commissioner for data protection.
